Where to find New Year’s Eve fireworks around Colorado

Coloradans are preparing to ring in 2025 with fireworks from the Front Range to the Western Slope. We’ve compiled a list of events happening across the state.

aspen Fireworks

Aspen Mountain will host a fireworks display at 8 p.m

Breckenridge Fireworks

Breckenridge Ski Area will host a fireworks display at the base of Peak 9 at 9:30 p.m. This will be the first time in over five years that the ski area will host a fireworks display on New Year’s Eve. In 2019, the Breckenridge City Council passed an indefinite ban on fireworks to be consistent with safe environmental practices. Council members later decided to lift the ban to boost support for local businesses.

Colorado Springs Fireworks

Colorado Springs may have the most unique and oldest New Year’s Eve fireworks tradition in the state. For a century, a mountaineering group from the AdAmAn Club has hiked up Pikes Peak on New Year’s Eve to set off fireworks from the summit at midnight. The exhibit is visible to numerous surrounding cities – such as Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs.

Reverend David Hunting, a long-time member of the club, said the fireworks display was very special this year. Earlier this year, 25-year-old Luke Stark, a new member of the club, was tragically killed in a car accident. That’s why his younger sister Rachel Stark and her father Lance Stark are leading the hike of 31 people to the summit this year.

“This is the first time ever that the AdAmAn Club has posthumously honored such an individual for this year’s walk,” Hunting said.

Kupferberg Fireworks

There will be a fireworks display at Center Village at Copper Mountain Ski Resort at 10 p.m. The show is free for viewers.

Denver Fireworks

Denver will host two fireworks shows on New Year’s Eve.

One will be at Civic Center Park and the other at 16th Street Mall. There are two fireworks shows at each location: one at 9 p.m. and the second at midnight. Each of the shows lasts about 10 minutes.

According to organizers, while the fireworks display can be viewed from most parts of the city, entry is free for those who want to see the show up close. Spectators can watch the show from the Mile High Tree in Civic Center Park or the Skyline Skating Rink on the 16th Street Mall.

Organizers said the shows would go ahead regardless of bad weather such as rain or snow. Neither is included in the forecast.

“Fireworks look really pretty with snow in the background,” said Sharon Alton, one of the event organizers.

According to Alton, the only reason for the shows being postponed would be the strong winds, which are unlikely tonight.

In addition, RTD is offering free bus and train tickets on New Year’s Eve from 7 p.m.

Grand Junction Fireworks

After sunset, around 6:00 p.m., there will be a fireworks display at Powderhorn Mountain Resort. However, the start time is subject to change. The show is free for viewers. According to organizers, the show will end with a single large explosion, or as a Powerhorn spokesperson described it, “a firework display that looks like a fireball flying through the air.”

Big lake Fireworks

Grand Lake will host a fireworks display at midnight. Organizers said the show would be seen over the icy lake.

keystone Fireworks

Keystone Resort will host one of its first fireworks shows this year. The show is scheduled to start at 7 p.m

Ouray Fireworks

The fireworks display begins in Ouray at midnight at the Horseshoe Curve on U.S. Route 550. According to organizers, the fireworks display will be visible from almost anywhere in the city.

Telluride Fireworks

The fireworks in Telluride can be seen from the core of the mountain village. They are expected to begin after the city’s New Year’s Eve parade, which begins at 6:30 p.m
