Which couples got engaged? The ultimatum Season 3?

Caleb and Mariah

Relationship status: Busy

Caleb Lefterys proposed to Mariah Zernik in the season 3 finale and she said yes. “It’s so surreal at the moment. I can’t believe we’re engaged… This is what true happiness feels like,” Mariah shared after the proposal. “This was truly the last piece I was missing, and knowing that I have such a strong man by my side through this makes me feel truly blessed.”

Upon reuniting, the couple revealed that they are still engaged a year later and plan to tie the knot in the summer of 2026. Mariah told Netflix’s Tudum that learning to communicate her feelings beyond the experiment was crucial to the success of their relationship.

“I was so communicative and wanted to address things (that I wasn’t) to give him the space to actually speak,” she explained. Mariah added that she and Caleb had several intimate conversations after their return that helped them deepen their bond and understand “the level of honesty required in a healthy relationship.”

Dave and Vanessa

Relationship status: Still together

Since leaving the experiment early, Dave and Vanessa have gotten engaged, bought a house together and “fallen even deeper in love.” “One of the biggest takeaways from the experiment was the clarity we gained through frequent, intense and emotional conversations,” Dave and Vanessa told Tudum. “These intense conversations were challenging, but ultimately strengthened our relationship because we became more focused on what we both wanted.”

The couple has no regrets about their early exit and is confident they made the right choice. Vanessa added that her litigation partner Nick had exhibited “erratic, manipulative and other questionable behavior” and claimed that he was fully aware of her decision to leave. “We really put ourselves and our love for each other above all else,” they said, noting that they “didn’t know any of the other cast members beyond brief interactions.”

Scotty and Aria

Relationship status: Not together

Scotty Lewis and Aria De Westbrooks are no longer together. Although they got engaged in the season 3 finale, the couple announced upon reunion that Aria ended the engagement just a day later. They continued to try to date and even attended couples therapy, but their relationship ultimately didn’t work out.

“Scotty really isn’t a bad person. He is such a real person. For us personally, there are a lot of things we need to work on and I don’t think he would do that if I stayed by his side,” Aria told Tudum. “In an ideal world, I wish he would have given me the things I need in a relationship because this man truly loves me.”

Scotty told Netflix that he is focused on personal growth, particularly in the way he handles conflict, after seeing his on-screen disagreements with Aria and his test wife Zaina. “I want to make sure I’m better at dealing with conflict, especially when I feel like I’m being attacked,” he said.

The two now have limited contact, with Scotty noting that while he is “always hopeful about what might happen between them in the future,” maintaining healthy boundaries seems to be the best bet for now. He also admitted that he is still affected by how strong the bond between Aria and Caleb was in court.

“Aria couldn’t zoom out and see how her emotional connection to Caleb could hurt (me),” Scotty explained. “I wish there was more trust and forgiveness in our process. If we had those two things, I think we would be in a very different place right now.”

Nick and Sandy

Relationship status: Not together

Nick Tramontin and Sandy Gallagher are no longer together. While Nick reportedly had a ring in his pocket on the day of the proposal, Sandy stopped him before he could propose, explaining that they still had “things we need to work out.” Upon reuniting, the two confirmed their split, with Nick making it clear that he didn’t actually have a ring or any intention of proposing.

Nick told Tudum Although he wishes his ex the best, he felt that Sandy was “a little reckless” in her relationship with JR. “I don’t think what she did was wrong, but that still doesn’t mean it didn’t hurt.” It felt like she was moving quickly.” Nick is dating someone now, though he is keeping these details secret for now.

Sandy also admitted that she would have been “mindful of Nick’s feelings” during the show by dialing back her flirtation with JR. She also shared that there were unhealthy elements in her relationship with Nick that ultimately made her unhappy. Looking to the future, she is optimistic about finding the right partner. “I want a life partner,” she said. “I want a family, but for me there has never been a timetable because I know that the person you marry is much more important than when you get married.”

Zaina and JR

Relationship status: Not together

Zaina Sesay and JR Warren are no longer together after parting ways in the season 3 finale. At the reunion, they shared that they tried to rekindle their relationship after the show but disagreed, which led to their second breakup.

Zaina claimed that JR invited her to a birthday dinner but canceled the event on the day of the event and never rescheduled. “Leaving the experience of going back into the world and then just being excluded was very painful,” she told Tudum. “JR didn’t give me what I needed in a partner, so (I had to ask myself) what can I actually control? My mind.”

However, JR denied excluding her entirely. “There was never a time where I shut her out and said, ‘I don’t want to talk to you,'” he said. “I haven’t brought it to closure because I’m still processing things… I’m not at a point where I can talk about our relationship. I still need time.”

Zaina said that after the heated discussion at the reunion, JR has since blocked her on social media. Meanwhile, JR told Netflix that he still has deep feelings for her. “She was the best friend I ever had,” he said.
