No. 9 Indiana (11-1, 8-1 Big Ten) travels to face No. 3 Notre Dame (11-1) in an in-state matchup between Nos. 10 and 7. The first game of the 12-team era will be Friday in shown in prime time as the only playoff game of the day. The game will be broadcast on ABC.

Despite being less than 200 miles apart, the two schools have faced each other 29 times in their respective histories. The last meeting took place on September 7, 1991, when the Fighting Irish defeated the Bulldogs 49-27 in South Bend, Indiana. Notre Dame leads the series between the programs 23-5-1. The Hoosiers’ last win over Notre Dame was on October 21, 1950, 20-7.
