A new face will take the stage at 2025 on Sunday Golden Globe Awardsand first-time host Nikki Glaser will have the difficult task of entertaining A-list celebrities – and millions of fans watching at home – as Hollywood celebrates The best of television and films from last year.

Glaser, a comedian who gained widespread attention after appearing on the Netflix series “The Roast of Tom Brady” last year, has been tapped to host tonight’s awards show. She will be the first solo female presenter at the Golden Globes.

Here’s what you should know about this year’s host.

Who is Nikki Glaser?

Ohio native Nikki Glaser has taken on many roles throughout her career. She is primarily a stand-up comedian who has also achieved success as an actress, podcaster, and radio and television host.

She began performing stand-up comedy at age 18 and worked her way up to appearances on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “Conan” and two seasons of “Last Comic Standing.” She is known for her brutally honest comedic style and her raunchy and relatable stand-up specials.

Glaser spoke to “CBS Mornings” in December about the long road that led her to the Golden Globes stage at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

“It’s been a lot of hard work to get to this point in about a 22-year career where all of a sudden some people are starting to notice,” Glaser said. “I’m at a point in my life where I’m old enough to be able to handle this kind of attention and not let it go to my head anymore.”

She has been open about her struggles with self-medication, eating disorders and alcoholism. tells CBS “Sunday Morning” In a recent interview he said, “The obsession with work is just not wanting to feel.”

But she said she isn’t worried about the pressure that comes with hosting the Golden Globes. “I live on fear,” she said. “I like the feeling of, ‘Oh, what’s going to happen?’ I like this feeling. I kill it when I’m scared.

In which films and series was Nikki Glaser seen?

In addition to her appearances on late night shows and “Last Comic Standing,” Glaser hosted Comedy Central’s “Not Safe with Nikki Glaser,” a comedy and talk show with a focus on sex.

She was also the star of the 2022 reality show “Welcome Home Nikki Glaser” and hosted the reality TV dating shows “Blind Date,” “FBoy Island” and its spinoff “Lovers and Liars.”

She has had acting roles in the Amy Schumer comedy films “Trainwreck” and “I Feel Pretty” and appeared on competition shows such as “Dancing with the Stars” and “The Masked Singer.”

Glaser has also participated in the roasts of Rob Lowe, Bruce Willis, Alec Baldwin and Tom Brady.

The comedian has released four comedy specials, including her most recent, “Nikky Glaser: Someday You’ll Die,” for which she won an award Golden Globe nomination for best stand-up comedy performance.

“It was really cool to get the nomination on top of the preparation,” Glaser told “CBS Mornings” about the Globes. “For me, hosting is No. 1.”

Despite the pressure, Glaser is excited about the experience and is looking forward to her big night – whether she brings home a trophy or not.

“I will do something after my award is given,” she said. “I somehow find it funnier when I lose.”
