Who is Shaboozey? The performer from the Lions-Bears Thanksgiving show takes the stage

Country music fans are eating well on Thanksgiving this year.

Of the Thanksgiving game’s three halftime shows, two of the artists performing are country musicians. Each will perform in one of the earlier games during the national holiday, with electric violinist and dancer Lindsey Stirling rounding out the halftime performances in the night’s Packers vs. Dolphins game.

The first act of the day – and therefore the first country artist – is rising star and Grammy-nominated artist Shaboozey, who will perform at halftime of Lions vs. Bears. He will appear at Ford Field during the nationally televised game on CBS.

Lainey Wilson is the other country artist performing on Thanksgiving. She will take the stage for the halftime show during the Cowboys vs. Giants game later this afternoon.

Who is the performer for the Lions Thanksgiving halftime show?

Shaboozey will be the Lions’ halftime performer and will take the stage at the Thanksgiving Day Classic Halftime Show powered by Verizon.

Detroit announced Nov. 10 in a press release and social media graphic that the Grammy-nominated artist would perform at halftime of its Thanksgiving game.

“YESSSSSS!!!!!!” Shaboozey posted on social media site X in response to the announcement.

Who is Shaboozey?

Shaboozey burst onto the country music scene this year with his two appearances on Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” album – the most of any artist on that album – as well as his hit single “A Bar Song (Tipsy).”

The Virginia native’s song spent 19 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 100, tying the record set by Lil Nas X’s 2019 hit “Old Town Road.” Shaboozey received multiple award nominations for “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” including honors at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), Country Music Association Awards (CMAs), and a win at the inaugural People’s Choice Country Awards for “New Artist Song of”. 2024.”

Shaboozey himself was also nominated for several new artist awards at the VMAs and CMAs, and won the 2024 New Artist of the Year award at the People’s Choice Country Awards.
