In the 93rd minute, the home team had a goal disallowed after a silent VAR review.

Rogers shot the ball into the empty goal after a dogfight between Juventus goalkeeper Di Gregorio and Diego Carlos.

Di Gregorio had come out of the posts to win the ball; Diego Carlos tried to win the aerial duel, but collided with the Juventus keeper, who was therefore unable to hold the ball.

Referee Jesús Gil Manzano initially awarded the goal to Aston Villa, but after a quick VAR review that didn’t even require a pitchside check, it was disallowed.

A very controversial finish at Villa Park 😲
