Did Denim Richards’ Colby Leave Yellowstone in Season 5 Part 2 and Why?

Colby was finally killed off in Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2. This raises the stakes of the series as it comes to an end in the coming days. Furthermore, it shows that the life of a ranch hand is much more dangerous than one can imagine.

The latest episode is about how Rip Wheeler had plans to sell one of his aggressive horses, also known as “Man-Eater.” However, he was unable to attract potential customers for a long time. However, the young Colt managed to bring a customer from Mexico who wanted to buy the horse.

Soon Colby is sent to load the horses. However, he notices that Carter is struggling to escape the man-eater’s clutches. It later turns out that Carter just wanted to get the empty bucket out of the stall to refill it. He tries to sneak in, but ultimately suffers from the horse’s anger. To save him, Colby goes into the stable and tries to distract the horse so Carter can escape.

His attempts prove unsuccessful and the horse attacks him. He initially kicks him and stomps on his chest several times while Carter tries to find a rifle to save Colby. However, he eventually dies.

His death leaves an emotional impact not just for a moment, but also for the entire plot and its characters. At the beginning of the episode, Colby confesses his love to Teeter and there is a chance that their relationship will blossom into something beautiful.

Additionally, a certain piece of dialogue from Teeter in the series also aptly makes it clear that being a ranch hand isn’t easy when death is just two steps away. She says, “He’s a cowboy. Suffering is the job. I just wish he had suffered a little longer so I could say goodbye.”
