That’s right, of all the wild dating rumors that pop up on TikTok, this one about Jim Carrey and Ariana Grande is probably one of the craziest.

In case you have absolutely no idea what I’m talking about, apparently everyone got together online and decided that Jim Carrey and Ariana Grande have been secretly dating for years without anyone knowing.

Which, first of all, is absolutely not true, as Ariana is very happy with Ethan Slater and has been since Wicked began filming. But as it turns out, Ariana and Ji actually know each other well and have an interesting relationship, to say the least, so let’s get to the bottom of it.

Well, Ariana previously confessed that she actually has a crush on Jim Carrey in an interview on Live with Kelly and Michael in 2015. There she admitted: “My childhood crush, my lifelong crush, it all kind of fits together. It’s Jim Carrey.”

She continued to tell the hosts what it was like meeting him, explaining, “I was kind of nervous about meeting him, you know, he’s always been my crush. What if he’s not as nice as I expect? He was so over the top nice and perfect and exactly what I hoped he would be. He told me in his Jim Carrey way… “Remember, be nice.” I thought, “Oh my God, you’re so cute.”

She proved her love for the comedian by even getting a tattoo of one of his iconic lines from The Truman Show, which read: “If I don’t see you, good day, good evening and good night!” That’s dedication.

As it turns out, she was even working on a project with her lifelong crush, with Jim Carrey describing her as an absolutely “magical” person. The two worked opposite each other during a drama/comedy show called Kidding in 2020.

Ariana gushed about working with Jim, emotionally writing on her Instagram: “Nothing is crazier than working and spending time with someone you idolized and worshiped before you could speak.” In fact, it’s even crazier, to discover that this person is personally more special, warmer and more generous than one could have ever imagined.”

Even though the couple doesn’t seem to be as close as before and are definitely not dating, it’s clear that Jim Carrey and Ariana Grande have a very good friendship. Now all we need is for him to get one of her iconic quotes tattooed on him!
