Penn State will face Oregon in the Big Ten Championship Game in Indianapolis on Saturday. Ohio State will not take part in the high-profile event following its home loss to Michigan to end the regular season.

However, there is still something at stake for the Buckeyes as they are widely expected to make the 12-team College Football Playoff. This game could affect their ranking as they faced both teams in the regular season.

Ohio State is currently scheduled to host a first-round game against the Tennessee Volunteers.

While this would be a tough game for the Buckeyes, the seeding is far from set with a jam-packed day of conference championship games coming up on Saturday. For Ohio State, it should be supporting Oregon, and here’s why.

The Nittany Lions, with just one loss, are currently the No. 3 seed in the College Football Playoff rankings. If they lose, they are likely to fall behind Ohio State, especially since the Buckeyes beat Penn State in a packed Beaver Stadium earlier this season.

However, since this is the first 12-team playoffs, there’s no telling how the committee will view these neutral battles when it comes to seeding. However, to achieve a higher ranking, the Buckeyes faithful should aim for a Ducks win on Saturday.
