Why Tucker and Meyers could be the Raiders’ X-Factors on Monday night

The Las Vegas Raiders face the Atlanta Falcons in a duel between two struggling teams. The Raiders have lost nine straight and the Falcons have lost four in a row, making Monday night a game that could go either way.

In the past, the Falcons have struggled with fast receivers who are good route runners. Last week, the Falcons gave up 130 yards to two receivers, Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.

Raiders wide receiver Tre Tucker still has some way to go to be in the same conversation as those wide receivers, but he runs clear routes and has shown he has the skills. There will be some vacancy for Tucker veteran wide receiver Jakobi Meyers as the Raiders’ offensive coordinator on Monday night.

“I think Tre (Tucker), again, is a young man who has done well,” Turner said. “He obviously had the big game against Kansas City. I think he will continue to improve. And we know we have our other guys, but I think we’ll just see how Tre works and hopefully continues to grow, and I think he’ll get some good opportunities there Game against Atlanta.

“So Jakobi (Meyers), I didn’t know Jakobi at all until last year,” Turner said. “I tell people this all the time – he’s one of my favorite players I’ve ever been around.” His professionalism, his work and his toughness are truly unmatched at any position, but especially at receiver. And he doesn’t really say much, but people know he means it. He’s one of those people that everyone listens to when he talks.

“And these young guys in the room follow him, and on offense they see what he does and they see that he is an example of what a professional should look like, not just in terms of work ethic, but also easy.” your attitude. A lot of resilience is obviously inappropriate, and everything he got was earned through hard work. And we know we can count on Jakobi at all times, whether it’s blocking or running routes or anything else. He takes some pride in holding himself to a standard that is higher than anything any of us could ask of him.”
