‘Wicked’ makes its streaming debut – here’s how to watch the film on Prime Video

Everyone, we have an announcement!

After 40 days in theaters, “Wicked” is now available to stream on video-on-demand (VOD) retailers, including Prime Video.

Based on the Broadway musical of the same name (and the novel that inspired it), “Wicked” is a prequel to “The Wizard of Oz” that explores the life of the Wicked Witch of the West before her encounter with Dorothy and a bucket of water. The evil witch, named Elphaba in the musical and film, is played by Tony Award winner Cynthia Erivo.

Green pairs well, er, with pink, and Erivo pairs perfectly with her co-star Ariana Grande, who portrays the iconic Glinda the Good.

In addition to near-universal acclaim, Erivo and Grande both received Golden Globe nominations for their work in the film.

While the Golden Globes won’t be decided until later this weekend, Wicked is available to watch at home right now, just in time to ring in the new year.
