‘Wild trade proposal’ has Bucks looking to land $60M All-Star in trade for Brook Lopez

As we approach the NBA trade deadline, the Milwaukee Bucks are expected to look at various ways to improve their roster. Even though Milwaukee has recovered from a poor start to the new season, they are not quite where they want to be and could use an upgrade in several areas.

Rumor has it that the Bucks are making some players on the roster available in various trade talks to gauge the market for help. One player who could move is veteran center Brook Lopez, who is in the final year of his contract and is scheduled to make $23 million.

If the Bucks take advantage of that expiring $23 million contract, they could get a decent return on Lopez. In a new trade proposal, Milwaukee is making a multi-team move that will net them a two-time All-Star big to replace Lopez.

The deal would be between the Bucks, Chicago Bulls and Golden State Warriors. The deal could look like this:

Bucks received: Center Nikola Vucevic and forward Torrey Craig

Warriors receive: Center Brook Lopez and guard Talen Horton-Tucker

Bulls received: Forward Andrew Wiggins, a 2025 first-round pick by the Warriors, a 2031 first-round pick swap by the Bucks and a 2031 second-round draft pick by the Bucks

The Warriors would sign Lopez to help them in their title pursuit this season. They could see how things go and maybe keep him in the offseason. If anything, they’ll get a big, expiring contract this summer.

With Wiggins, Chicago gets a scoring wing and some additional draft capital. They’ve been trying to trade Vucevic for a long time and finally make it happen.

As for the Bucks, they’re bringing in Vucevic to anchor their team moving forward. The veteran can help create space on the floor, similar to Lopez, but he is a bit younger.

Vucevic is also under contract through next season, giving the Bucks some insurance against potentially losing Lopez in free agency. His unique skill set on offense could work well alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard.

Milwaukee is in full winning mode and signing Vucevic could help them clinch a title. If anything, he would help them become even more formidable in the Eastern Conference.
