Henry enters Week 17 of the 2024 NFL season with 1,636 rushing yards, second in the NFL behind only Saquon Barkley (1,838 rushing yards).

Will Derrick Henry reach 2,000 rushing yards?

It will be difficult for Henry to surpass 2,000 rushing yards in 2024. He will need 364 yards in the final two weeks of the season to reach his second career 2,000-yard season. This average of 182 rushing yards per game would be significantly higher than his average of 109.1 yards per game so far in the 2024 season.

Any chance of Henry reaching 2,000 rushing yards likely hinges on him having a big day in Week 17 against the Houston Texans. That’s something he’s accomplished many times in his eight years with the Tennessee Titans.

Henry has rushed for more than 200 yards in a single game six times in his career. Impressively, four of those games came against the Texans, who typically struggled to contain Henry.

Due to his massive 200+ yard rushing against Houston, Henry is averaging 102.2 rushing yards per game against the Texans. This despite allowing fewer than ten runs in three of his first six games early in his career against his former division opponent.
