Will Harrison Ford star in the Air Force One sequel? — World of Roles

That’s wild if it’s true. Let’s just dismiss it as a “rumor” until someone can get to the bottom of it. I emailed a few contacts, but they haven’t heard back. So take everything with caution.

Apparently Sony is developing an Air Force One sequel, or maybe it’s just a reboot? Scoopers Daniel Richtman isn’t entirely sure either, but he’s heard that Harrison Ford, 82, who starred in the original, might star in this film. No director was mentioned in the report.

Five years ago, there were rumors that Sony had given the green light to develop a sequel titled Air Force Two. Last January, screenwriter Andrew W. Marlowe admitted that he had considered the possibility of developing a sequel, but found that the idea had many flaws.

Almost thirty years have passed since the action thriller directed by Wolfgang Petersen, in which Ford’s US President faces off against terrorists who hijack his presidential plane. The film starred Gary Oldman as the lead terrorist, Glenn Close as the Vice President, and several other notable character actors in supporting roles, including William H. Macy, Jürgen Prochnow, Dean Stockwell, and Paul Guilfoyle.
