One of the most entertaining new shows of late 2024/early 2025 is Taylor Sheridan’s Countryman.

Created by Taylor Sheridan, Paramount+’s exciting new series is set in the fortune-seeking world of West Texas oil rigs. The beloved series centers on Billy Bob Thornton’s Tommy Norris, a disgruntled, no-nonsense crisis manager for an oil company who is struggling with numerous personal and professional problems. From drug cartels and workplace deaths to the tornado of chaos known as his ex-wife (the great Ali Larter), Landman’s A star-studded cast and an unpredictable story will fill that out Yellowstoneshaped void in your streaming plan.

The season finale (Season 1, Episode 10: “The Crumbs of Hope”) premieres Sunday, January 12 at 3:00 pm ET on Paramount+. But what about season 2? will Countryman be back for a second season full of intrigue? Here’s everything we know.

The series hasn’t received an official renewal yet, but a second season seems to be a foregone conclusion. The series has been well received by both critics and audiences, and Paramount isn’t necessarily keen on turning down shows starring Taylor Sheridan. Countryman Star Demi Moore apparently confirmed a second season during promotion The substance in May 2024.

“I’ve already finished the first season and I’m looking forward to us starting the second, which will take place early next year,” Moore said during a talk at the American Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival.
