COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — School districts in the Columbus area canceled classes or postponed start times Tuesday due to the ongoing impacts of the winter storm.

The storm dropped several inches of snow across the area Sunday night into Monday.

Schools that have announced delays/closures for Tuesday include:

  • Columbus City Schools
  • Dublin City Schools
  • Hilliard City Schools
  • Pickerington Schools
  • Reynoldsburg City Schools
  • Gahanna Jefferson Schools (2 hour delay)
  • Canal Winchester Schools
  • Southwest City Schools
  • Hamilton Local School District
  • Groveport Madison Schools
  • Westerville City Schools (two hours late)
  • Worthington Schools (two hours late)
  • New Albany-Plains Local Schools (two hours late)
  • Delaware City Schools (two hours late)
  • Olentangy Schools (two hours late)

All winter storm watches and warnings are no longer in effect for central Ohio after several inches and up to 30 centimeters of snow fell in some parts of the region.

It began to snow measurably on Sunday afternoon and continued throughout the night into Monday morning, with the heaviest snowfall falling overnight. A final round of snow fell on Monday evening.


Monday night was very cold with temperatures around 20°C. We’ll wake up to bitterly cold temperatures in the teens and wind chills in the single digits.
