Although widespread, lasting effects are unlikely, some pockets of disease are possible.

Temperatures will drop quickly this afternoon, allowing rain showers to transition to snow showers. The rainfall will end at 9pm this evening.

In addition to some slippery spots, visibility is also a problem. Winds will be gusting to 30-40 miles per hour. Combined with snow showers, this could result in reduced visibility on area roads.

How much snow?

Dust formation is most common across NWA, although some isolated spots may accumulate up to 1 inch. The best chance for more measurable snow is closer to the Missouri/Arkansas state line.

What is a winter weather warning?

A Note on winter weather is issued by the National Weather Service to alert the public to winter weather conditions that may cause inconvenience but are less severe than a winter storm warning.

These conditions may include light to moderate snow, sleet, freezing rain, or a combination thereof, which could make travel hazardous.

Although such weather is not typically life-threatening if proper precautions are taken, it can interfere with daily activities. Therefore, it is important to be informed and prepared. Always check for updates and take steps to stay safe when a winter weather advisory is in effect.
