Wisconsin WR takes a parting shot at staff before entering the transfer portal

The mass exodus for the Wisconsin Badgers football program is becoming increasingly worrisome. What’s going on in Madison for head coach Luke Fickell? This is what countless fans want to know as double-digit players have announced their transfer intentions.

One of the most recent playmakers to do this was wideout Trech Kekahuna, who surprised a lot of people. It was a down year for the offense overall, which led to offensive coordinator Phil Longo being fired by Fickell after the 16-13 loss to Oregon.

Kekahuna is now looking for a new home where he can demonstrate his skills. In dramatic fashion, Kekahuna told Badger Blitz’s Benjamin Worgull that he felt “underestimated” by the staff this season and that he “didn’t like the way things were going with the program.” Wow.

It’s clear that Kekahuna wanted to be more involved in the Air Raid, but once Tyler Van Dyke went down with his torn ACL, things went downhill offensively for this team as a whole. Longo didn’t help matters with his brutal play, which led to his dismissal that season.

During the year, Kekahuna recorded 25 receptions for 339 yards and two touchdowns. He had a breakout game against Purdue, showing off his monster potential with six grabs for 134 yards and two touchdowns. It was great to see the 5-10, 185 pound wideout.

After that, however, Kekahuna was pretty quiet on Saturdays, including one-reception games against Northwestern and Oregon, respectively. In the season finale against Minnesota, he finished the game with six receptions for 64 yards.

It’s completely unknown who Wisconsin’s QB1 will be next season, and the same goes for the team’s OC. What we do know is that Kekahuna played his last loss for Fickell. Things didn’t go according to plan for him with the Big Ten team, which is disappointing, especially considering how special he looked against the Boilermakers.
