Won $1 million Mega Millions prize in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – A Baton Rouge woman won a $1 million Mega Millions prize, according to the Louisiana Lottery Corporation.

The woman matched five of the six Mega Millions numbers in the Tuesday, Dec. 17 drawing and will take home $717,507 after state and federal tax withholdings. The winning numbers for the December 17 drawing were 55, 66, 67, 68 and 69, and the Mega Ball was 18.

The woman bought her ticket at the Town South Food Mart on Starring Lane. The store receives a $10,000 sales bonus.

Two other people in Louisiana also recently won big in Mega Millions drawings. According to the Louisiana Lottery Corporation, a $1 million winning ticket was sold in the Tuesday, September 24th drawing at Circle K in Shreveport, and the Tuesday, November 26th drawing was sold at One Stop Convenience in Baldwin sold a winning ticket worth $3 million.

The Mega Millions jackpot is estimated to be $1 billion ahead of today’s drawing. The prize is the seventh largest in the game’s history.

Lottery officials remind the public that a person must be at least 21 years old to purchase a lottery ticket. Additionally, draw-style tickets must be claimed within 180 days of the draw.
