Wrexham predicted XI against Bristol Rovers as Paul Mullin made the decision and Phil Parkinson left out the ‘frustrated’ star

Wrexham need a win over Bristol Rovers to keep their strong push for automatic promotion.

In their last League One game, Wrexham drew 2-2 against Cambridge United.

Cambridge are in danger of relegation this season but have more than held their own at the Racecourse Ground.

Paul Mullin described Cambridge as a frustrating result and the Welsh side will be desperate to avoid a similar setback against another struggling team.

Bristol Rovers recently sacked their manager and the side, who sit 20th in the division with just 21 points from 19 games, are now facing a potential revival.

The meeting with the Pirates will take place on December 21st at 12:30 p.m. at Memorial Stadium. Here’s everything you need to know about Wrexham before they face Bristol Rovers.

Wrexham team and injury news ahead of Bristol Rovers clash

After many problems over the last few months, Phil Parkinson received some much-needed good news on the injury front this week.

Jack Marriott is healing faster than expected after suffering a broken leg in October that was expected to keep him out until mid-February.

Parkinson also provided a positive update on Arthur Okonkwo’s injury this week, although both stars will still miss the Bristol Rovers game.

Elsewhere, George Evans is set to return to Wrexham very soon, with the midfielder expected to feature over the holidays after a long spell on the sidelines.

James Jones, Callum Burton and Luke Bolton will miss the game through injury, while Anthony Forde remains ineligible to play.

Wrexham’s predicted lineup against Bristol Rovers

Despite playing at home against a team from the bottom half of the table, Parkinson is unlikely to make too many or any changes to his starting lineup.

Wrexham fans sent a positive message to Mullin after he failed to score again in the last game.

The striker has only scored one goal in 18 league games and while Elliot Lee hasn’t been particularly good as a makeshift number nine, Parkinson seems to have decided that the midfielder is a better option than the club’s record goalscorer.

Despite Lewis Brunt giving away a penalty and Wrexham conceding two goals, Parkinson is likely to stick with the same back five that started against Cambridge.

Previously, Dan Scarr was “frustrated” with his minutes at Wrexham and did not feature in the club’s last five league games – a run that is likely to continue this weekend.

We expect the Red Dragons to take on Bristol Rovers on Saturday…

Max Cleworth, Eoghan O’Connell, Lewis Brunt

Ryan Barnett, Matty James, George Dobson, Ollie Rathbone, James McClean
