The WWE Survivor Series has taken place every Saturday night since 1987. Five bouts are scheduled, headlined by the match stipulation that has become synonymous with the event. There will be two WarGames matches, including the one between the new Bloodline and the old Bloodline, which much of the WWE Universe is eagerly awaiting. Three championships will also be on the line in the final main roster premium live event of the year as the road to WrestleMania draws ever closer at the start of 2025.

Women’s WarGames Match: Team Liv vs. Team Rhea

It was Nia Jax and Bayley who opened the night, and the longtime foes wasted no time in attacking each other, even though the game was far from over. Bayley took off her shoulder sleeve and used it as a weapon, but Jax turned it around and used it to her own advantage.

With Team Rhea having the advantage, birthday girl Naomi was the first person out of the cage, bringing with her a kendo stick. Then there was a toilet seat that Naomi hilariously used on the WWE Women’s Champion.

Men’s WarGames Match: What other surprises await you in the next chapter of The Bloodline? The formation of the OG Bloodline made it seem like they would sail to victory, but the addition of CM Punk and the return of Paul Heyman further complicates matters. However, OG Bloodline stands firm, but don’t be shocked if something happens after this. Winner: OG bloodline
Women’s WarGames Match: It’s really Rhea Ripley versus Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. As much as Ripley wants to unleash a brutal attack against them, her concentration costs her team as Team Live sneaks by with a victory. Winner: Team Liv.
Gunther (c) vs. Damian Priest: Damian Priest has been on a heat lately and this won’t be anywhere near the same match as the SummerSlam match. As he continues to reach superstar level, Gunther’s reign won’t be ending anytime soon. Winner: Gunther.
Bron Breakker (c) vs. Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser: This match offers the opportunity to steal the show with the absolute talent each person possesses. Ludwig Kaiser would compliment Gunther if he won, but the chaos of a triple threat favors the champion. Winner: Bron Breakker.
LA Knight (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura: It was a mysterious return for Shinsuke Nakamura. The new personality is great, but he hasn’t had a counterpart in a long time. Nakamura has the potential to take the title, but it’s still too early. Winner: L.A. Knight.

Men’s WarGames Match: It will be interesting to see how the OG bloodline can come together and overcome the differences of the last few years. The New Bloodline has come together pretty well over the last few months, which should be a plus. The additions of CM Punk and Bronson Reed make for interesting additions to the game, but may not have a dramatic impact on the final result. winner: The new bloodline
Women’s WarGames Match: Rhea Ripley has star power on her team, but her downfall may be the desire to get her hands on Liv Morgan rather than the match itself. Also, keep an eye out for Nia Jax, who has multiple eliminations. winner: Team Liv
Gunther (c) vs. Damian Priest: Despite a strong showing from Priest, Gunther will continue to look strong and push for WrestleMania as champion. winner: Gunther
Bron Breakker (c) vs. Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser: Ludwig Kaiser has the opportunity to make a breakthrough and increase his status as a promising star, but it will be Breakker who retains the title. winner: Bron Breakker
LA Knight (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura: LA Knight has held the championship since August, but could see their reign end against the returning Nakamura. A loss for Knight could give him the opportunity to enter the heavyweight championship scene or pursue Nakamura. winner: Nakamura

What are WarGames?

Created by Dusty Rhodes in 1987, WarGames is one of the most unique matches in WWE as it involves two rings next to each other. Since its introduction to NXT in 2017, it has become a staple of the company.

The two rings are surrounded by a roofless steel cage and are contested by two or three teams. The game begins with one participant from each team starting in the ring. After five minutes, another member of a team enters the game to gain a brief 2-on-1 advantage. Two minutes later, a participant from the disadvantaged team steps up to even the odds. The teams then alternate participants until all participants are in the game.

A team wins by pinning or submitting a member of the other team.

Survivor Series History

Survivor Series is the second longest-running pay-per-view in WWE after WrestleMania. The event was first held in 1987 at the Richfield Coliseum in Richfield, Ohio.

While most premium live events typically have a championship match as the main event, Survivor Series is known for featuring tag team matches as the event’s headliner. These are often five-on-five elimination tag team matches, but there have also been matches in which stars formed teams or branded matches such as Raw vs. SmackDown were held.

Survivor Series began using the WarGames matches in 2022 after they were first used in NXT. This year’s event marks the fifth and sixth WarGames matches in Survivor Series history.

The Bloodline opens a new chapter

The OG bloodline is back and ready to embrace the new version as Roman Reigns looks to reclaim the title of Tribal Chieftain from Solo Sikoa. Reigns was reunited with Jimmy Uso at Bad Blood, and after weeks of pleading, the duo finally managed to get the other Uso, Jey, to rejoin the group. The original trio then added Sami Zayn, who joined the group in late 2022 and was a successful member.

The new bloodline of Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and Jacob Fatu added the game’s needed fifth member in Bronson Reed. With the OG Bloodline needing another member, a week before Survivor Series, Paul Heyman returned, announcing that CM Punk would be the fifth person on the team.

Saturday night’s game may finally decide who the true tribal chief is, but the feud between the two sides is far from over and will likely continue into the new year.

Will The Rock return?

After months away from WWE, The Rock appeared at the end of Bad Blood in October, eyeing Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns. It’s unclear why he was there, but it likely showed that he’s watching what’s going on between The Bloodline and it’s only a matter of time before he gets involved.

There are no confirmed reports of The Rock returning, but don’t turn off the stream even after Endgame ends.

Paul Heyman returned to reunite with Roman Reigns and the OG Bloodline. With the family needing another partner for the WarGames match, Heyman turned to an old friend of CM Punk’s to increase their chances against the New Bloodline.
