Chinese EV startup XPeng Inc. XPEV has selected RTI Connext Drive from Real-Time Innovations as the core communications technology for its next-generation E/E vehicle architecture.

Starting with the 2026 series models, Connext Drive will take over the complex data distribution in XPENG vehicles, thus advancing the company’s goal of developing smarter, more efficient and more future-proof vehicles with the most modern technologies.

Based on the DDS standard, Connext Drive is a real-time data management framework that ensures seamless communication between vehicle systems regardless of suppliers.

Its adaptable architecture supports complex systems such as ADAS and autonomous driving functions and integrates cutting-edge technologies into future models without the need to rewrite code.

Yu Peng, vice president of XPENG, said: “XPENG needed a communications framework that supports a unified architecture across all of our designs – one that meets the demanding data requirements of a wide range of XPENG models, from high-end to entry-level, can handle.” level vehicles.”
