Shark Tank India-featured company Yes Madam faced significant backlash after an internal HR email went viral. The email, shared by an employee on LinkedIn, noted that over 100 employees were fired after admitting in a survey that they felt stressed at work.

However, Yes Madam issued a clarification denying the allegations of mass layoffs.

“We sincerely apologize for the distress caused by recent social media posts claiming we had laid off staff due to stress. We would never take such an inhumane step. Our team is like our family, and their dedication, hard work and passion are the foundation of this.” “All of our successes,” said the startup.

The Noida-based startup said no employee was terminated and that the survey was part of an awareness initiative aimed at raising awareness about stress in the workplace.

“The social media posts were a planned attempt to draw attention to the serious problem of workplace stress. And to everyone who shared angry comments or expressed strong opinions, we say “thank you.” When people speak up, it shows that they care – and that it is important to them. “At the heart of our business,” it said.

Yes Madam, which offers home salon services, clarified that employees who reported stress were given breaks to reset and encouraged to focus on their well-being.

Introducing Happy 2 Healing and Stress Relief Vacation Policy

In its clarification, Yes Madam announced a new corporate program called “Happy 2 Heal”. The initiative offers head massages and workplace spa sessions to help employees relax and recharge.

The startup also introduced what it claims is India’s first-ever de-stress vacation policy. Under this policy, employees are entitled to six paid days of stress-reduction leave per year to focus on their mental health and recovery. Additionally, they receive a free at-home spa session.

“We firmly believe that the backbone of every great organization is built not on stressed shoulders, but on happy minds. So let’s make employee well-being the new norm. Let’s create companies that thrive on caring, collaboration and compassion,” she added.
