McDonald’s just got a lot more exciting for Pokémon Go players.

On Thursday, the official Pokémon Go website revealed its new partnership with McDonald’s, giving trainers new locations to explore and catch their favorite characters.

“We are pleased to announce a partnership between Pokémon GO and McDonald’s in the United States,” the announcement said. “As part of this collaboration, Trainers will be able to visit sponsored PokéStops or Gyms when they visit McDonald’s restaurants in the US.”

Trainers, it continues, can visit participating McDonald’s locations during certain weeks in December to “encounter Pokémon attracted to Lure Modules at McDonald’s PokéStops and participate in five-star raids at McDonald’s Gyms.” . (If you’re unfamiliar with the concept of a Pokémon Gym, the website explains that gyms are “places around the world where you can battle rival teams’ Pokémon,” making it a truly community affair). )

The announcement added that the lure modules and raid battles will be active daily from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time for the following weeks:

  • Monday, December 16th, to Sunday, December 22nd, 2024
  • Monday, January 20th, to Sunday, January 26th, 2025
  • Monday, February 10th, to Sunday, February 16th, 2025
  • Monday, March 10th, to Sunday, March 16th, 2025

Of course, you can also grab something to eat with your fellow trainers at any time during your stay. And if you’re visiting during 2025, you might get lucky and snag a snack wrap, which McDonald’s says will make its grand return sometime in 2025 – although no one’s quite sure exactly when it’ll be back, either at McDonald’s The return was mentioned in a cryptic Instagram post that read, “Snack Wraps xx.xx.2025” and the caption, “I can’t believe I just posted that.” Still, we’ll take it.

The Pokémon Go team also added that it is important to follow the game on social media for game updates and added another caveat in their announcement: “Please be aware of your surroundings and follow the Guidelines from local health authorities when playing Pokémon GO.” You don’t want to accidentally run into the fryer while trying to catch them all, do you?
