Travis Hunter is the man of the hour.

Over the weekend, the Colorado Buffaloes’ two-way star was crowned the winner of the Heisman Trophy, college football’s highest honor given to the season’s best player.

During Saturday’s ceremony, Hunter’s fiancée Leanna Lenee got a little upset and went viral for all the wrong reasons.

Lenee was criticized by fans after footage showed Hunter’s coach, NFL legend Deion Sanders, allegedly having to tell her to stand up when Hunter was announced as the winner.

Critics described her reaction as “disinterested” and questioned why she wasn’t more excited about her partner winning the highest individual honor at the collegiate level.

Matters got even worse when more viral clips surfaced on Sunday showing Lenee getting upset about Hunter taking photos with fans at a Heisman party.

Lenee sat just a few feet away from Hunter as he took a photo with a female fan. “What should I do? Then I’ll just sit here,” she seemed to say while looking visibly upset.

Hunter, who recently signed a lucrative endorsement deal with Adidas, then appeared to hint that she could leave if she felt like it. In the video he can be seen saying: “You could go to the hotel, you could walk around there…”

Social media users were furious on Hunter’s behalf, with many advising the projected No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to dump his significant other.

“No bro, let her go,” one fan posted on X.

“You need to leave the girl quickly if she is bored on the biggest day of his life,” wrote one of the replies to the video on X.

However, three-time Super Bowl winner and first-team regular Shannon Sharpe fired back at her critics.

“Everyone has experienced a situation where a parent has told them, ‘I don’t want you to see this person,'” Sharpe said.

“And the more they tell you they don’t want you to see that person (the more you try to go to them).

“I get it, I get it, you don’t want the man to be taken advantage of. Nobody wants to… But just protect yourself, protect your assets later.”

“But you don’t dictate anything! You don’t see it?!”

“You have to let the man make his mistakes, he will figure it out, hopefully sooner than later.”

“But he loves this woman. This isn’t acting! The more you try to break them up, the more you drive them together.”

Sharpe added that he ultimately wants the best for Hunter, who is just months away from signing his NFL rookie contract.

“I want the young man to be happy. Stop telling people what to do!”

“I want Travis Hunter to do his best. I want him to be smart. He’s about to make more money than he ever dreamed of, and I want to protect him.”

“Sometimes you have to hit your head before you realize how much it hurts.”

Hunter and Lenee have known each other since their days at Collins Hill High School in Suwanee, Georgia.

However, Lenee initially ignored Hunter’s Instagram direct messages because “he wasn’t her type,” revealing that she initially dismissed him as “just another athlete.”

She eventually succumbed to Hunter’s charms and they have been together since 2022, with their wedding planned for next year.

Hunter has stood by his fiancée despite the negativity and says he can’t wait to marry her once he signs his NFL contract.

“She might look irritated at me, but at the same time she has to deal with a lot of things during the game. There’s a lot of things that people don’t see on camera,” Hunter recently said on the Pivot Podcast.

“I just let people talk,” he continued.

“I’m a big troller, so I just troll the internet. I really don’t care what they think or what they say about us so I’ll just go ahead and troll. You talk about them, I post them.” “Make them even angrier than they already are, so they try to find something to hate, try to find something to destroy our relationship, but there it’s nothing, you can’t find anything because I love my wife.”
