YouTube TV is raising prices again after denying a “false” report days ago

YouTube TV, now one of the country’s leading cable TV providers, is starting to behave this way. The service told customers in an email this morning that prices will increase in the new year, from $73 per month for the basic plan to $83 on January 13, 2025 – just days after it was hinted had that this was not the case.

“We do not make these decisions lightly and recognize that this impacts our members,” Google said in its email to subscribers. “We’re committed to bringing you features that change the way we watch live TV, like unlimited DVR storage and multiview, and the variety of content on YouTube TV, as well as the extensive on-demand library of movies and to support broadcasts.”

In announcing the price increase, Google cited “the rising cost of content and the investments we are making in the quality of our services.” It was noted that customers can pause or cancel their subscription in their settings and that current trials and promotions will be taken into account and remain unchanged.

The move comes just days after a Verizon ad on Facebook suggested customers could save $10 per month on YouTube TV at the “current subscription price of $82.99/month.” As seen on 9to5Google, the verified TeamYouTube account responded on It’s true that the price was wrong – for three days or about five weeks, depending on how you do the math.
