Zach Bryan was hit by a flying object at a concert in Portland, Oregon

Zach Bryan was hit by a projectile during his concert in Portland, Oregon, on Wednesday night, the latest incident in a disturbing trend of fans throwing objects at artists.

According to the video obtained by TMZ, Bryan was performing his song “Tourniquet” when a cylindrical object hit his right leg. Bryan stopped playing and walked away from the microphone before picking up the object and asking the crowd, “Okay, who threw it?”

Then the music stopped as Bryan explained, “Let’s not be idiots, huh. Are you stopping all concerts?” Bryan threw the object back into the crowd and continued his performance without further disruption.

This is the second time in just a few days that someone has been hit on stage during one of Bryan’s concerts. During his performance at the Tacoma Dome in Washington on November 23, Bryan stopped the show after his guitarist was hit by something thrown onto the stage. “Don’t throw shit at concerts, yeah,” Bryan declared on stage.

Bryan hasn’t just had to deal with flying objects lately. After his separation from BFFs Podcaster Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia accused the country singer of emotional abuse and claimed he offered her $12 million to sign a nondisclosure agreement. She described alleged incidents in which she was verbally abused and claimed Bryan was often drunk, belligerent and destructive.

When it comes to bad fan behavior, concert etiquette has been an issue since live shows returned following the Covid-19 pandemic. Last summer, Bebe Rexha was hit in the face with a cell phone, someone threw her mother’s ashes onto the stage during one of Pink’s performances, and then Kelsea Ballerini had a bracelet thrown at her.

“I don’t know why this is so new. People are just excited and it can be dangerous,” said Billie Eilish The Hollywood Reporter last summer. “I have mixed feelings because when you’re up there it’s awesome. But you know it’s out of love and they’re just trying to give you something.”

Adele had a more direct warning (or threat?): “You dare throw something at me and I’ll fucking kill you.”
