LANDOVER, Md. (AP) — Zach Ertz will play for the Washington Commanders against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, a week after leaving their last game in New Orleans with a concussion.

Veteran tight end and safety Jeremy Chinn were both active after going through concussion protocol and being cleared. Coach Dan Quinn on Friday ruled out only defensive tackle Jonathan Allen, who is eligible for release from injured reserve two months after undergoing surgery to repair a torn pectoral muscle, leaving the door open for Ertz and Chinn to play in a game that Washington is in The playoffs could be affected.

The 34-year-old Ertz is facing the Eagles for only the second time, both encounters taking place this season. He played his first eight and a half NFL seasons for Philadelphia, helping the team win the Super Bowl in the 2017 season.

After Terry McLaurin, Ertz was rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels’ second most popular receiver. He has 54 catches for 526 yards and four touchdowns this season.

The Commanders can clinch a spot in the postseason with a win and a loss against Atlanta and either Seattle or the Los Angeles Rams. The Eagles can clinch the NFC East and one of the conference’s top two seeds if they win their 11th straight game.

Commanders cornerback Michael Davis was a healthy scratch in Marshon Lattimore’s second game with them. Eagles receiver AJ Brown, who was limited in practice because of a knee injury late in the week, is playing after confidently saying he would.
